Coursework - Generating Ideas

What if all hole-punchers were storing up all the holes they were punching in order to eventually turn the world into a giant hole?

What if dinosaurs never went extinct and they were waiting underground to return?

What if the world was actually flat but was embarrassed because everybody thought it was round and it didn't want to disappoint everyone?

What if all films were the real world and we are actually all in a very long and boring film?

What if every what if question that is asked comes true in an other world?

A mad scientist is sitting in his lab. He is very depressed because all his experiments had failed and so he began to cry. As he cried, a tear fell from his eye and lands into a jar of a green liquid of some strange description, and, as the tear fell into the jar, the liquid begins to bubble. The bubbles spill over and begin to drip down the table and into the floorboards. The camera pans down below the floorboards and follows the bubbles down into the ground where suddenly a scream is heard. OUCH! The bubbles were landing into a giant eye, right into the pupil. The camera pans upward and we see the scientist looking down through the floorboards with an expression between horror and wild curiosity and then he screams. DON'T DO THAT AGAIN! says the giant eye. The camera tracks across the eye until it is an eye no longer, now it is a sea, now it is a forest. Suddenly the camera comes right back to the action where the mad scientist is asks the eye Who are you? The giant eye blinked dramatically. I - ERR- WELL - I he stammers with embarrassment WELL DON'T TELL ANYONE, OKAY, BUT I AM THE EARTH AND I -  But you're flat , exclaimed the mad scientist. I may be crazy but at least I know the Earth is round. At that the Earth began to cry and great big tears fell across the eye... outside, it started raining.
The scientist then realises what he is saying and stands up, slaps himself and promptly finds a a bottle of whiskey and takes an all-too-mighty chug. A moment later, he collapses onto his bed and laughs before falling asleep. Through the floorboards, we see the eye and it blinks.

Film focuses on the conflict between a mad scientist and the flat Earth that has started talking to him. As the scientist comes to terms with the fact that he is not delusional and that the Earth is indeed talking to him, he discovers the Earth is very embarrassed that it's not round. The mad scientist laughs and the Earth gets very offended and starts sending lightning down over his house and starts shouting at the scientist. They get into an argument which is very deep and philosophical about the nature of being a planet and also a conscious and also about how the scientist drinks too much. This is inspired by The Gunfighter in the way it takes a comedic spin on a genre film but instead of Westerns this is a twist on Sci-Fi.
